Shohei Ohtani, a.k.a. Sho-time, the famous Japanese two-way baseball player, who is now a rookie in the MLB team, the Los Angeles Angels, was chosen as the Rookie of the Year!  He is the fourth Japanese player to win the Rookie of the Year Award in Major League Baseball.

  1. I guess no one remembers Masonori Murakami, who came from Japan to pitch for the Giants in the 60s. He didn’t win Rookie of the Year, but he was an excellent relief pitcher: at the time, the only Japanese player in the major leagues.
