What “Makoto” Means

My middle name, Makoto, is the Japanese word for ‘truth’. It’s a common boy’s name here in Japan. Dad and Mom gave me the middle name of “Makoto” because Jesus is the Truth!

“Jesus said, I am the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one comes unto the Father, except through me.” — John 14:6

  1. And the truth is not only you, Joshua, but in you. At the hospital where I was born, my mother told them she wanted my middle name to be “RoseOfSharon.” But they got it wrong 3 times so she eventually accepted “Sharon.” And that’s makoto!

      1. Rose of Sharon was one of Jesus’ many names. We’re both blessed. I don’t know that i live up to my middle name, but there’s no doubt that you do.
