Prayer Request for the People of Japan

A big typhoon is coming.

This typhoon, Japan’s nineteenth typhoon of the year, is predicted to hit the eastern part (most of Honshu) of Japan sometime on the 12th, Sat. or 13th, Sun. The typhoons that have previously come have caused enough trouble already: landslides, houses losing their roofs, etc. The speed of this new typhoon is 50 meters per second. This typhoon has the same strength as the typhoon that caused 1,200 casualties a couple of years ago. Please pray for Japan, especially for God’s people, that the damage won’t be too severe and that there won’t be too many casualties. Please pray that God will use this typhoon to make His people rethink their ways and come back to God and ask for His forgiveness. The salvation of God’s elect is the most important thing. Since all is in God’s hands, it’s not really something to worry about, but I’ll really appreciate your prayers.

1 Peter 5:7 – “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.”

What Do You Find Your Identity In?

AMEN! I wanted to share these good words by Keziah!

(This post is from Keziah’s blog!)

KeziahE

My family and I
have recently been attending a house church that some friends go to. I have
really enjoyed it, and wanted to share something that really stood out to me,
one Sunday night.

One guy said
something that really made me think. He said (paraphrasing here): “The world is
telling you to find identity in the things around you. Whether it be money,
your job, or what people think of you, the world tells us to find identity in
things of this world. We, as Christians, however, need to stop trying to find
identity in things of this world, and start finding identity in Jesus. He’s the
only one that can satisfy us, the only One that can truly make us who we were
meant to be.”

So, here’s my
question for you all:

What Do You Find Your Identity In?

The definition
for the word “Identity”…

I Must Tell Jesus!

“Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.” – Psalm 55:22 NKJV

“Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace.” – Hebrews 4:16 KJV

“And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, ‘Jesus, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me!'” – Mark 10:47 KJV

“At that time Jesus answered and said, ‘I thank Thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because Thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father: for so it seemed good in Thy sight. All things are delivered unto Me of My Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal Him. Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you, and learn of Me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light.'” – Matthew 11:25-30 KJV

See the source imageToo much excitement for Cousin Romulus. Knocked him right out!

Look at that–just 188 comments to go to reach 50,000. The suspense is killing me!

Byron the Quokka here, mates, and here’s another look at the official and bona fide Quokka T-shirt that the winner will get for posting Comment No. 50,000.

Quokka T-Shirt | Funny Australian Quokka with Baby

All right, the blue shirt we wound up getting is darker than this, but the picture’s the same. We have a bright red shirt in Extra Large and a dark blue in Large.

Here on Rottnest Island, the excitement has reached a fever pitch. Practically every quokka here has got a pretzel in the pool (we don’t use money). No, I won’t tell you who I’ve picked to win. Let’s just say I have a lot of confidence in this reader.

A mere 188 comments to go! That should barely get us through the weekend, eh?
