Lydia kindly gave me this award on July 14th, 2020!

Thank you, Lydia, for nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award!

1. Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link back to their blog so others can find them.

2. Answer the 11 questions asked by the blogger who nominated you.

3. Nominate 11 new bloggers and ask them 11 new questions.

4. Notify the nominees by commenting on one of their blog posts.

5. List the rules and display a sunshine blogger award logo on your post and/or your blog site.

Lydia’s Questions

1. Diet or regular soda?

I usually drink regular soda. Root beer’s my favorite, BTW!

2. Water with ice or no ice?

I like water with no ice. Well, it depends on the ice. If the ice is from the fridge, then when it melts in the water it makes the water taste kinda bad.

3. What is your favorite animal that lives in the sea?

Good question!! I was always a fan of sea animals! Let’s see… this is turning out to be a mind-user. Ah-ha! My favorite sea creature is the GIANT SQUID!!! Just imagine seeing it in the ocean fighting with a gigantic whale that is approximately the same size! (Of course, you will need a submarine to see that!)

If Mr. Mosasaurus was still alive, then I would have put him on the victory stand.

4. What is your favorite board game?

I think I’m going to say Scrabble. Chess comes super close second.

5. What was your biggest highlight from the past week?

We ate at a gluten-free noodle restaurant! Haven’t been to a restaurant in ages, it seems!

6. What is your biggest pet peeve?

Pet peeve? I can honestly say I’ve never heard that word before you mentioned it! After searching for the meaning on the internet, I found myself thinking, “Hmm… a small thing that annoys me… What can it be?” And then “💡” went my brain! I get annoyed when I drop things on the floor… from books to tissues. You know, the germs and all. I hate germs. The moment something touches the floor, I’m like… (Wilhelm scream 😱)!!!

7. What question do you get asked most?

In real life, probably the question I get asked the most is “How are you?”, to which I almost always reply, “I’m fine, thank you, and you?” Actually I get asked that question a lot in the blogging world, too! Thanks, guys, for thinking about me!

8. What was the last meal you ate?

Of course it depends on when I post this, but let’s see what the answer will be…

Wait a minute here! Am I beginning to write a poem or something?

“Let all of us see

What the answer will be,

Whether it’s today

Or some other fine day!”

Joshua Swanson (July 21st, 2020, at precisely 1:20 AM!!!… Oops, now you know what time I go to bed!)

July 21st Noon Update: Well, here we go! The answer is… (drums and cymbal)

HAMBURG STEAK AND CHICKEN AND VEGETABLE MIX!!!

You can forget that poem now.

9. Do you prefer hot or cold temps outside?

I definitely prefer cold temps outside. It’s just a matter of putting on more layers, whereas in hot temps… I hate summer! Hot temps = Hot tempers.

10. What is your favorite flavor of gum?

I haven’t chewed on gum for centuries! (Wait a minute, I haven’t lived that long yet.) Well, I wanted to say that I haven’t chewed on gum for a long time! But my favorite gum flavor is mint.

11. On a scale of 1-10, (1 being the lowest, 10 being the highest) how would you rate yourself as being an adventurous person?

Hmm… another good one. I’d say 3 or 4? I’m an indoors person, but I want to be more of an adventurous outdoors person. It’s probably healthier, and you get to know more about God’s wonderful creation!

My nominees:

  1. Lee

  4. Hattush
  5. Jim

I believe that the Bible is true.

The first thing I wrote was: “Hmm… I don’t remember exactly when I last ate bacon, but I think I ate some with fried rice (called “chahan”) four or five weeks ago,” but later, the time of my latest bacon consumption changed. On June 10th, 2020, Wednesday, at approximately 12:00 PM, I ate bacon strips, and, oh, they tasted swell.

(P.S. – I also ate bacon on June 17th, Wednesday, when it showed up in my lunchbox. Thanks, Mom!)

(P.P.S. – Sigh. This is what’ll happen if you wait until after Father’s Day to post this… you get to eat a whole pig before you can answer the question!!! On June 19th, Friday, Mom served us some delicious Japanese food which included some salmon, miso soup, and, you guessed it, bacon. I ate bacon on that day at around 12:15 PM, by the way! So what!?)

(P.P.P.S. – On June 21st, 2020, which, come to think of it, was yesterday, I ate chahan, and I don’t think I have to mention what was in it. 😉 )

Random Acts of Kindness Award #2

img_8932.jpg
I was nominated by Lydia Potter on December 22nd, 2019!

Thank you, Lydia, for nominating me for this award!! I’m very happy to get it! 🙂

Please follow her blog!!

RULES:

  1. Thank the person that nominated you, and tag them.
  2. Write a paragraph or more on the experience of an act of kindness or something you have read or seen, or done, yourself.
  3. Nominate three people to participate in this award.
  4. Paste and copy the picture from above on your post.
  5. Let the people you nominated know they have been nominated.

My Story:

It was with inner grief that my brother and I waved good-bye to our parents. We looked up at the ominous train station. “Well, bro, here goes nothing,” said I to my brother. (Well, actually, in real life I didn’t say that. Keep in mind that probably about 34% of this story is exaggerated.) After spending 3 hours and 12 minutes trying to buy the tickets (There, I did it again. Sigh.), we waited for our train on the platform. “Look! Our train is a-comin’!” cheered my brother. But as it turned out, it was only Thomas the Tank Engine chuffing past us and whistling, “Hi, y’all folks! I’m a very useful engine!”, and we watched him as he disappeared into the distance. “WAIT!!!” I screamed, waving my hands in agitation. “I was your fan back when I was sometime between 1 and 7, so I sort of want your autograph!!!” But alas, by that time it was too late. Our real train arrived, and we made way for the 53 pigs to get off the train. (Four of them were apparently a quartet in a group named The Hotdogs Of The Future.) One of them stepped on my foot, but I’m alright, don’t worry. (By the way, please raise the percentage from 34% to 65%, because I didn’t know I was going to write all that junk.) So we got on the train, and about 20 minutes later (There that’s more like it!)…

We gave our seats to two elderly women.

THE END

Conclusion

Showing kindness to other people, like simple acts such as encouraging others, gift-giving, and giving your seat to someone else, is a way to spread happiness to the ones around us. Furthermore, it is a kind of reflection of the merciful kindness of Jesus when He was on this earth, healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, making the lame to walk, and giving life to people who have died. The greatest act of kindness ever done on this planet earth was the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross. He willingly died for the people Whom God the Father gave to Him to be His chosen people before the world began. Let us thank God always for the Lord Jesus Christ, for the gift of salvation, for redemption, for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, for the work of the Holy Spirit, for the Word of God, the Holy Bible, for creating us, and for ruling over all things by His almighty power.

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” – Ephesians 4:32

There are three people who will get nominated for this special award. And they are…

Keziah Hofmann, Lydia Rose, and Elijah Holston!

(Well, if I was permitted, I would have nominated ALL of you!!!)

Thank y’all for reading, and may 2019 end in happiness for you and may 2020 begin with joy and brightness. 😉

Thank you, God, for this precious year of 2019, and please bless the next year, Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
