“Seek ye the LORD while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and He will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” – Isaiah 55:6-7
“2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:2 KJV
Do you love old-fashioned hymns? They don’t get much more old-fashioned than this, from 8th-century Ireland–and still beautiful, still blessing us today. Be Thou My Vision, sung here by the Lebanon County Youth Chorus.
I liked this rendition of the hymn so much, I played it twice–Be Thou My Vision, sung by Nathan Pacheco. When this hymn was first sung, Charlemagne was a little boy. An ancient Irish hymn, from the eighth century. Still very much loved today.
“Be Thou My Vision” is one of my most favorite hymns. “Be Thou My Vision” is an Irish hymn from the 8th century. God must be everything to us. We must keep our trust only in Him, and He will be our comfort and strength at all times. Here is Fernando Ortega singing this beautiful hymn. This one has the lyrics.
