‘To God Be the Glory’

From Lee Duigon’s blog, “To God Be the Glory”. Please listen and think about the words!

Lee Duigon

I wish I could hear a million people singing this–don’t you? This is the hymn that’s been in my mind since last night, so it’s time to let it take wing: To God Be the Glory. Performed at the Middlesborough Baptist Church as part of “The NBA Big Sing.” Earth, sky, and trees provided by God the Father. Turn up the volume!

— Thanksgiving 2018 ~ November 22nd —

Today in America it’s Thanksgiving Day!

It is the time to say thank you to God for all the things he has so graciously given us! We must thank God for the food we eat everyday, our families, and our lives! God made us, and we are His people. We must always be thankful to Him, not just on Thanksgiving, but on every day of our lives!

Thank You God for making us, for nourishing us, for our families, and for everything in this life! Above all, Thank You for the Lord Jesus Christ! In Jesus’ name, amen!

Here is a hymn praising God for the blessings which He always gives us!

Amazing Grace

I posted this hymn a few days ago, but I want to post it again! Why not?

Amazing Grace“, sung by American country singer Alan Jackson.

Alan Jackson – Amazing Grace

Lyrics:              (from YouTube)

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
was blind, but now I see.

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
and grace my fears relieved;
how precious did that grace appear
the hour I first believed.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares,
I have already come;
’tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
and grace will lead me home.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
bright shining as the sun,
we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
than when we first begun.

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
that saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
was blind, but now I see.

Amazing Grace

“Amazing Grace”… definitely one of the most sung and well-known hymns of all time. Composed by Sir John Newton and published in 1779, this hymn calls us to remember how amazing are God’s grace and love towards us, so undeserving as we are, to send His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross for our sins. Praise God for His sovereign grace!

This is a good rendition sung by Il Divo at the Colosseum in Rome. These opera singers from four different countries have marvellous voices, and the bagpipes are just awesome!!

Lyrics:

Verse 1:        (Singer: Sébastien Izambard, from France)

Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,

That saved a wretch like me!

I once was lost, but now am found,

Was blind, but now I see!

Verse 2:        (Singer: David Miller, from the U.S.A.)

‘Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,

And grace my fears relieved;

How precious did that grace appear,

The hour I first believed!

Verse 3:         (Singer: Urs Bühler, from Switerland)

Thro’ many dangers, toils, and snares,

I have already come;

‘Tis grace hath bro’t me safe thus far,

And grace will lead me home!

Verse 4:         (Singer: Carlos Marín, from Spain)

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,

Bright shining as the sun,

We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise,

Than when we first begun!

Verse 1 Repeat

(Edit: October 15th: I noticed today that “Amazing Grace” fits into the melody of the New Year song,”Auld Lang Syne”, which is adapted into the hymn, “All Glory Be To Christ“. “Amazing Grace” fits into a few other hymns as well.)
