The Food Award #2

shamus-t-bones
Lydia nominated me on June 23rd, 2020.

I have been nominated by Lydia Potter for the Food Award! Thanks a lot, Lydia! Make sure you check out her blog and YouTube channel!

The Rules:
Thank the person that nominated you.
Pingback to the creator, Elisha at https://elishamcfarland.com/.
Use the same featured image as your nominator.
Answer the five questions.
Create five questions about food.
Nominate five people.

Questions from Lydia:

1. Do you like dried fruit?

Yes, indeed! I especially like raisins.

2. Have you ever eaten squirrel?

Squirrel? No, I’ve never eaten squirrel in my life. Is it good? πŸ€”β“πŸΏ{πŸ˜…)

3. What is your favorite soup?

Oh, I would have to say “Corn soup!” to that question! 🍡πŸ₯„πŸ˜‹{γ„γŸγ γγΎγ™!!)

4. How do you like your steak cooked?

I like my steak medium-rare.

5. When was the last time you ate a pasta dish and what was it?

The last time I ate a pasta dish was on June 18th, 2020 (Say, my diary’s more useful than I thought! πŸ˜„), and that was Thursday I should say. It was a scrumptious meal that my mom made: pasta with tomato sauce and onions, and it was called “naporitan.” Sounds French, eh? (And later, after searching “naporitan,” I found out that I had made an error. It’s Italian. Of course it’s Italian, you dunderhead Josh!πŸ€ͺ)

But come to think of it, there was once a French emperor that had the name “Naporitan,” right? Emperor Naporitan, doesn’t really sound good, but hey, we can’t change history.

My nominees:

Lee Duigon

Rosy Marr

Bonnie

Hattush

Steve McLeod

My questions:

1. What’s your favorite soda drink?

2. What do you usually order at your favorite restaurant?

3. Do you like to listen to music while you eat?

4. Which ethnic food do you find the most to your liking?

5. Have you ever eaten sushi?

(All this talk about food makes me kinda hungry!)

Thank you again, Lydia, and I express my gratitude to all those who have read this! πŸ˜„

And thank you, God, for the food You so graciously give us each day!

Lydia Potter nominated me for this on May 14th, 2020!

3 Facts About Me:

I believe that the Bible is true.
I like to write my diary every day.
I am a very, very, very, very slow eater.

The Questions:

1. Do you prefer solid color clothes or a pattern?
I like both, but I prefer clothes with patterns,

2. What are your 3 favorite things you do every day?
I like to drink coffee, read my Bible, and pray.

3. How often do you post on your blog?
I used to post every day, but recently I’ve been doing only a few posts a month.

4. When you handwrite, do you write in cursive or print?
I write in cursive.

5. When was the last time you ate bacon?
The first thing I wrote was: “Hmm… I don’t remember exactly when I last ate bacon, but I think I ate some with fried rice (called β€œchahan”) four or five weeks ago,” but later, the time of my latest bacon consumption changed. On June 10th, 2020, Wednesday, at approximately 12:00 PM, I ate bacon strips, and, oh, they tasted swell.

(P.S. – I also ate bacon on June 17th, Wednesday, when it showed up in my lunchbox. Thanks, Mom!)

(P.P.S. – Sigh. This is what’ll happen if you wait until after Father’s Day to post this… you get to eat a whole pig before you can answer the question!!! On June 19th, Friday, Mom served us some delicious Japanese food which included some salmon, miso soup, and, you guessed it, bacon. I ate bacon on that day at around 12:15 PM, by the way! So what!?)

(P.P.P.S. – On June 21st, 2020, which, come to think of it, was yesterday, I ate chahan, and I don’t think I have to mention what was in it. πŸ˜‰ )

I feel as if I’ve eaten an entire pig in order to answer this question! 🐷

Random Acts of Kindness Award #2

img_8932.jpg
I was nominated by Lydia Potter on December 22nd, 2019!

Thank you, Lydia, for nominating me for this award!! I’m very happy to get it! πŸ™‚

Please follow her blog!!

RULES:

  1. Thank the person that nominated you, and tag them.
  2. Write a paragraph or more on the experience of an act of kindness or something you have read or seen, or done, yourself.
  3. Nominate three people to participate in this award.
  4. Paste and copy the picture from above on your post.
  5. Let the people you nominated know they have been nominated.

My Story:

It was with inner grief that my brother and I waved good-bye to our parents. We looked up at the ominous train station. “Well, bro, here goes nothing,” said I to my brother. (Well, actually, in real life I didn’t say that. Keep in mind that probably about 34% of this story is exaggerated.) After spending 3 hours and 12 minutes trying to buy the tickets (There, I did it again. Sigh.), we waited for our train on the platform. “Look! Our train is a-comin’!” cheered my brother. But as it turned out, it was only Thomas the Tank Engine chuffing past us and whistling, “Hi, y’all folks! I’m a very useful engine!”, and we watched him as he disappeared into the distance. “WAIT!!!” I screamed, waving my hands in agitation. “I was your fan back when I was sometime between 1 and 7, so I sort of want your autograph!!!” But alas, by that time it was too late. Our real train arrived, and we made way for the 53 pigs to get off the train. (Four of them were apparently a quartet in a group named The Hotdogs Of The Future.) One of them stepped on my foot, but I’m alright, don’t worry. (By the way, please raise the percentage from 34% to 65%, because I didn’t know I was going to write all that junk.) So we got on the train, and about 20 minutes later (There that’s more like it!)…

We gave our seats to two elderly women.

THE END

Conclusion

Showing kindness to other people, like simple acts such as encouraging others, gift-giving, and giving your seat to someone else, is a way to spread happiness to the ones around us. Furthermore, it is a kind of reflection of the merciful kindness of Jesus when He was on this earth, healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, making the lame to walk, and giving life to people who have died. The greatest act of kindness ever done on this planet earth was the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross. He willingly died for the people Whom God the Father gave to Him to be His chosen people before the world began. Let us thank God always for the Lord Jesus Christ, for the gift of salvation, for redemption, for the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, for the work of the Holy Spirit, for the Word of God, the Holy Bible, for creating us, and for ruling over all things by His almighty power.

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” – Ephesians 4:32

There are three people who will get nominated for this special award. And they are…

Keziah Hofmann, Lydia Rose, and Elijah Holston!

(Well, if I was permitted, I would have nominated ALL of you!!!)

Thank y’all for reading, and may 2019 end in happiness for you and may 2020 begin with joy and brightness. πŸ˜‰

Thank you, God, for this precious year of 2019, and please bless the next year, Lord. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Moonlight Delight

The moon is a wonderful gift from God!! Please enjoy this beautiful poem about the moon!!

(This is reblogged from Lydia Potter’s blog!!)

In His Service and Loving It

What would a night be like without the wonderful moonlight? Dark. Deary. God is faithful in bringing out the moon each night. Too often, we take our moon and its beautiful moonlight for granted.

A quick pic of the moon I took last night.

I really wanted a poem about moonlight to share on this post and I was wondering where I could find a great poem. I ended up asking a great blogger if they would write one for me. Sure enough – that person did! A HUGE thanks to Steve for writing this wonderful poem about moonlight! πŸ™‚

MOONLIGHT DELIGHT

Moonlight truly shines so bright,

Wondrous scene, such a delight.

Under this moon all does shine,

E’en the flowers glow so fine.

Moonlight fills the meadow fast,

In the forest, shadows cast.

Moonlight sits atop the hill,

Spreading light while all is still.

Shining now upon the lake,

Awesome Blogger Award

Lydia nominated me on June 27th, 2019!

Thank you so much, Lydia, for nominating me for the Awesome Blogger Award!! I’M VERY HAPPY!! Please check out her super awesome blog at: https://inhisserviceandlovingit.wordpress.com/ !!

<><><><><><><><>

Here are the rules…

  1. Thank the person/blogger who nominated you.
  2. Tag your post with #awesomebloggeraward.
  3. Answer all the questions given to you.
  4. Nominate at least 5 bloggers and inform them of their nomination.
  5. Give them 10 new questions to answer.

And here are the questions given to me by Lydia Potter:

What is the first thing you notice about a person? The first thing I notice is that person’s face. Then I try to remember that face so that I will recognize that person when we meet again.

What are some challenges you think the next generation will face?Β The next generation might have a hard time finding jobs since artificial intelligence is getting so high-tech that it’s taking the jobs away from humans. There are many other problems in the world, but God is in sovereign control, and we need not worry.

What is your favorite season and why?Β I like winter. Well, I think the atmosphere of the season is nice, and it gets nice and cozy in the house with the heater going and the coffee brewing. When it’s cold, we can adjust our body temperature by putting more layers on, but in summer, we can’t do that, and centipedes come out of hiding, so I don’t like summer. And also it feels comfortable in my heavy blankets when I sleep in winter.

If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?Β Definitely not fried centipedes, but probably my choice would be taco rice. Once you start eating that it’s unstoppable.

What’s the number one item you would save from your burning house?Β I would save my translation work. I can’t afford to have all that hard work burned in the flames.

What makes you laugh the most? These fabulous funny videos, listed in Top-3 order!!!

#3 – I Like Orange Juice (Warning: it’s rather ridiculous)

#2 – Kentucky Fried Chicken

And to crown them all…

#1 – WOW… This is totally amazing…Β

(Found this video at: https://leeduigon.com/2019/02/01/hank-johnson-four-pressadint/ )

What is your favorite holiday? My favorite holiday is New Year’s Day, celebrating the new year and thanking God for all the countless blessing He has bestowed upon us the past year.

What is your third favorite meal? Hmm… that’s a hard one, but I guess it’s pizza. (#1 = taco rice; #2 = curry rice.)

When was the last time you washed a car? We washed it sometime last week.

What is something you’re looking forward to next week? I’m looking forward to going to church on the Lord’s Day.

My nominees:

Keziah E.

Rosy Marr

Steve McLeod

Ryan Callahan

Mr. Holliman

Mrs. Holliman

I’ve been given this award by Lydia on May 30th, 2019! Thank you, Lydia!

I have been nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by Lydia Potter! Thank you so much, Lydia, this is my first Sunshine Blogger Award! Please visit and follow her blog at: https://inhisserviceandlovingit.wordpress.com/blog/

<>🌞<>🌞<>🌞<>🌞<>🌞<>🌞<>🌞<>🌞<>🌞<>🌞<>🌞<>🌞<>🌞<>

THE RULES OF THE SUNSHINE BLOGGER AWARD:Β

  1. Thank your nominator and post the link to the nominator’s blog.
  2. List the rules and put the award logo on your award post.
  3. Answer the 11 questions asked by your nominator.
  4. Nominate 11 bloggers and notify them.
  5. Ask them 11 new questions.

THE QUESTIONS LYDIA ASKED ME:

1 – Do you have any food allergies?

I don’t think so, but I am allergic to housedust and mold. (I used to have asthma.)

2 – When was the last time you had a bowl of cereal?

Hmm… I don’t remember the exact day, but I might have eaten a small amount of cereal in May only once. I almost always eat toast in the morning. I ate cereal almost every day when I was younger.

3 – What is your favorite cereal?

My favorite cereal is the O-shaped chocolate-coated cereal by Kellogg’s.

4 – What is your favorite flavor of chips?

That’s a hard question! I think my favorite flavor is sour cream and onion chips. I also like barbecue-flavored chips and cheese-favored chips.

5 – What is your favorite meal containing pasta?

My favorite meal containing pasta is spaghetti! Spaghetti with meatballs and parmesan chesse on top! Just imagine! Ahh… Bon appetit…πŸ˜‹πŸ

6 – Do you enjoy cooking? If so, why?

I don’t really enjoy cooking, mostly because I don’t really know how to do it. Mom does all the cooking. Mom helped Jay and me make curry rice and oyakodon (egg and chicken on rice) before. But I can make salad!!

7 – Do you prefer fast food or sit down restaurants?

I like fast food restaurants because the food arrives fast. We usually sit down at fast food restaurants.

8 – What is your least favorite fruit?

Although relatively I like all fruit, I don’t really like grapefruit. It’s kind of sour for me…

9 – Have you ever had food poisoning?

No, not yet!

10 – What is your favorite month of the year?

My favorite month of the year is December, because I like to reflect upon the blessings that God has given us that year, and I like to have the fire going on YouTube (I recommend Babu’s Relax TV!), drink hot cocoa, watch The Polar Express, play board games, and read in the last month of the year. I like the comfortable atmosphere of the season, in spite of the coughs, the sneezes, the bitter cold that causes the common cold…

11 – Have you ever seen the US White House in person?

Nope, just on TV… but who knows? I might be living there someday! πŸ™‚
