A Word of Encouragement by Paul Washer

May this video be an encouragement to you in the midst of these trying times.

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of My righteousness.” – Isaiah 41:10

A Prayer for the World

Please join in prayer as John Piper prays.

“Pray without ceasing.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:17

“Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, [21] Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.” – Ephesians 3:20-21

If you take away anything from this 2005 Chalcedon editorial, take this: Pray as if it all depends on God, and work as if it all depends on us.

https://chalcedon.edu/resources/articles/the-power-of-prayer

Here at Chalcedon, we’re totally dependent on God’s providence, manifested through voluntary donations from readers. Put bluntly, if the donations dry up, I dry up.

But this is good for us. This is humbling. So we work–we work hard. We plant and we water. But the increase is from God. Always from God.

He is, after all, our Heavenly Father who has begotten us in the Spirit, by the blood of Jesus Christ. It’s good for us to rely on Him.

A Christmas Prayer

A Christmas prayer, by Lee Duigon.

I’m typing this on Sunday morning, for publication Wednesday morning, when I expect to be doing more Christmas shopping.

This is a prayer, for this Christmas and every Christmas. Please join in.

O Lord our God! Bless this Christmas of 2019, and give it power to work day in, day out, day and night, and every day of 2020. Give it speech that all might hear. Give it the power to draw our hearts to Jesus Christ your Son, our Savior and our rightful King: give it the power to make us strong in His service, strong in His love. And may it move us to love one another, as Our Lord Himself commands.

All year long, O God! Bless this Christmas all year long. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Request for the People of Japan

A big typhoon is coming.

This typhoon, Japan’s nineteenth typhoon of the year, is predicted to hit the eastern part (most of Honshu) of Japan sometime on the 12th, Sat. or 13th, Sun. The typhoons that have previously come have caused enough trouble already: landslides, houses losing their roofs, etc. The speed of this new typhoon is 50 meters per second. This typhoon has the same strength as the typhoon that caused 1,200 casualties a couple of years ago. Please pray for Japan, especially for God’s people, that the damage won’t be too severe and that there won’t be too many casualties. Please pray that God will use this typhoon to make His people rethink their ways and come back to God and ask for His forgiveness. The salvation of God’s elect is the most important thing. Since all is in God’s hands, it’s not really something to worry about, but I’ll really appreciate your prayers.

1 Peter 5:7 – “Casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you.”

Happy Father’s Day!! 😉💚

TO MY FATHER, AND TO ALL THE FATHERS IN THE WORLD…

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!!!

Dear Heavenly Father,

I thank you for giving me and my brother a kind and gentle father, who takes care of us lovingly. Help us, LORD, to become like our father, hard-working, strong in the faith, living each day in your sight. I ask this in Jesus’ most precious name, Amen!

An Answered Prayer, Plus Hymn Request

Amen! Praise the LORD!! Grandma and Aunty are now reading the Bible! Please continue to pray for their salvation!! 🙂

Lee Duigon

I’m hurrying to get this posted before Joshua goes to bed. I don’t know what time it is in Japan, but it’s either very late or very early. Oh, well, he can see it when he gets up again: Blessed Assurance, sung by Alan Jackson.

And on top of it, we’ve got some good news–an answered prayer.

On May 5 Joshua asked us to pray for his grandmother and aunt in Japan, who had heard of the Gospel but not yet received it. Today Joshua reports that both are now reading the Gospel of John–and may the Holy Spirit speak to them! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayer Request: Joshua

Please pray for the salvation of my grandma and aunt!!

Lee Duigon

We’re getting a lot of prayer requests this weekend. Well, prayer is one of our purposes here.

Please, everybody, join in prayer for Joshua’s grandmother and aunt in Japan, who have heard the Gospel but not as yet been called: Father in Heaven, open their hearts that they may hear. We want our loved ones with us in your kingdom; we want them all to know the joy of Jesus Christ Our Lord, that they may be saved by him. We all have people that we love who have not yet come to Jesus. Bring them, O Lord our God: in Jesus’ name, Amen.
