The Church during the days of Corona Virus: Pray people don’t get sick with the virus at Church — The Domain for Truth

Please pray that the coronavirus won’t spread in the church and that God will heal those who have gotten it. Also, more importantly, please pray that the closed churches around the world will open again! To God be the glory in these hard times and forever!

Our “This Sunday” series will be another a Corona Virus edition. For this Sunday here’s what you can do: Pray people don’t get sick with the virus at Church

Quick Devotional from Matthew 5:18 (Observation from the Greek) – The Domain For Truth

The Domain for Truth

This is from my daily Greek exercise of sight reading some time ago, courtesy of Vincent S Artale Jr.

Our text is from the Greek translation of Matthew 5:18.  Here is my translation:

“ἀμὴν γὰρ λέγω ὑμῖν· ἕως ἂν παρέλθῃ ὁ οὐρανὸς καὶ ἡ γῆ, ἰῶτα ἓν ἢ μία κεραία οὐ μὴ
Truly I say to you until the heaven and the earth will go away, not an iota nor one stroke

παρέλθῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ νόμου , ἕως ἂν πάντα γένηται. ”
will go away from the law, until everything is fulfilled

Here are some observations:

The Church during the days of Corona Virus: Pray for your Church to be able to meet again

Reblogged this from Pastor Jim’s blog, The Domain for Truth.

This is a very good thing to pray about: That the Churches around the globe will be able to get together again like before, and that the virus cases will diminish.

But we, brethren, having been taken away from you for a short while—in person, not in spirit—were all the more eager with great desire to see your face.” (1 Thessalonians 2:17)

Persecution and the Believer Part 2

Reblogged from The Domain For Truth.

[10] “Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

[11] Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for My sake.

[12] Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.”

– Matthew 5:10-12

Quick update to yesterday’s Pray for a Persecuted Church Right now: This is now day 5 of the pastors being detained.  Please pray for other Christians too since their phones have been taken by authorities which the authorities can reconstruct other Christian leaders and churches.  These are perilous times for Christians in that country in East Asia.

Establish the need: Have you thought about Christian persecution?

Purpose: Today we shall see four more of eight truths the Bible teaches about Christians and persecutions so that you be strong in Christ when the time comes.

Persecution and the Believer Part 1

Reblogged from Pastor Jim’s blog. Continue to pray for the persecuted church in East Asia.

The Domain for Truth

Quick update to yesterday’s Pray for a Persecuted Church Right now: The authorities have let go of others but the four elders/pastors detained from this persecuted church have been punished and sent to jail for two weeks.  Updates will probably be delayed because of security concern.  This post is timely and relevant, as it is about what the Bible teaches about persecution and believers.

Pray for a Persecuted Church Right now

Prayer request from Pastor Jim: Please pray for a persecuted church in East Asia.

The Domain for Truth

Just received word that one of the churches I have taught overseas at this moment right now have all their members and elders/pastors detained and interrogated by authorities. I want to ask if you can pray for these persecuted Christians. This is very heavy for me to hear.

2020 and Proverbs 16:9

This is a great post from SlimJim’s blog, The Domain For Truth.

“A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps.” – Proverbs 16:9

The Domain for Truth

I think at this point everyone can agree that 2020 is a crazy year (and that’s saying much since there’s so many things people disagree on).

Messianic Prophecies Fulfilled in Mark 15

Jesus Christ is the ONLY ONE who has fulfilled these prophecies. He is King of kings and Lord of lords. Jesus Christ is God!

Problem of Suffering in light of Christ and Psalm 23

Psalm 23 is my favorite Psalm. This is an article by SlimJim about the connection between this Psalm and Mark 14. This Psalm is a great comfort for all Christians facing trouble in their lives. “The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want!”

The Domain for Truth

I have posted in the past “Chuck Norris Apologetics with the Problem of Evil.”  That post was about how the alleged problem of evil presupposes Christian theism.  In this present post I’m assuming what’s taught in that previous post.  Yet what is presented here is not just looking at the problem of evil in terms of suffering from another angle but should be joined with the first post as reinforcing a Christian treatment of theodicy.

Quick Spiritual DNA Test

This is one of the most important blog posts out there. Please read, and ask yourself, “Am I saved from my sins?”

The Domain for Truth

This is a serious and important post.

One of the most frightening passage from the Bible is what Jesus said:

Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many [n]miracles?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

(Matthew 7:22-23)

The consequences of being a false Christian has too much at stake for eternity.

You want to make sure you really are a Christian.  You want to make sure you genuinely will be going to heaven.  Of course going to heaven is not by our own works, but the works of Christ.  But you got to have genuine trust in Christ’s person and work.  You need to be rooted in Christ.

How do you know you are rooted…
